This 42-acre park is one of Richfield’s main athletic complexes and includes four adult softball fields, one football/soccer field, two outdoor basketball courts and one hockey/broomball rink.  Taft Park also has a one-mile walking path that includes a path around Mother Lake on the north side of the park.

 Taft Park has three parking lots:
Lot #1 is located at 62^nd Street and Bloomington Avenue So.,
Lot #2 is located at 63^rd Street and 16^th Avenue (but can only be accessed from Bloomington Avenue & 63^rd Street)
Lot #3 is located at 1800 63^rd Street (18^th Avenue no longer exists north of 66^th Street).

New Construction:
New construction, opening in the Fall 2007 there’s a new shopping area with Home Depot, Super Target and other shops bordered by 66^th Street (south), 17^th Avenue (west), Cedar Avenue (Hwy 77) (east), and 63^rd Street (north).

Directions to Taft Park:

From the North:
Take I-35W south to Crosstown/62.  Go east.  Exit at Bloomington Avenue and turn right onto Bloomington Avenue, two lots available Lot #1 is across the street after your turn or travel 2 blocks to 63^rd Avenue and turn left to access Lot #2.

From the South:
Take I-35W north to Crosstown/62.  Go east.  Exit at Bloomington Avenue and turn right onto Bloomington Avenue, two lots available Lot #1 is across the street after your turn or travel 2 blocks to 63^rd Avenue and turn left to access Lot #2.
     or
Take Cedar Avenue (Hwy 77) north to 66^th Street exit, turn left onto 66^th Street continue to Bloomington Avenue.  Turn right (north) to 64^th Street and turn right to 17^th Avenue.  Turn left to 63^rd Street and follow to Lot #3.  You can also continue on Bloomington Avenue to Lot #1 or Lot #2.

 From the West:
If you travel from the west via I494 or Cross-town 62, travel 35W or Cedar (Hwy 77) and follow the directions from north or south.

 From the East:
Take I494 west to Cedar (Hwy 77), go north to 66^th Street exit.  Follow Cedar Avenue (Hwy 77) directions from the south.
     or
Take Cross-town 62 west to Cedar Avenue (Hwy 77), take cloverleaf south onto Cedar (Hwy) 77.  Continue south to 66^th Street exit.  Turn right onto 66^th Street to Bloomington Avenue.  Turn right onto Bloomington Avenue, all three lots can be accessed from this direction.  Follow directions above.
