Renting Recreation Facilities

Veterans Park Picnic Shelter 6335 Portland Avenue
Reservations are being accepted for 2008.

This open-sided shelter is 120' x 60', divided into three 40’ x 60’ sections. Each section accommodates 80 people, has 10 tables, access to electricity and indoor bathrooms. Charcoal grills are permitted, no alcoholic beverages allowed. Afternoon blocks on weekdays and Sundays are 1:00 to 5:00 pm, Saturday afternoon blocks are 1:30 to 5:30 pm.  All evening blocks are 6:00 to 9:00 pm.   To reserve a section, please call the Ice Arena at 612-861-9350.

Park Buildings and Shelters (EXCEPT VETS PARK)

Open-sided park shelters at Augsburg, Fairwood, Monroe, Sheridan Parks are available for rental.  Enclosed buildings are available for rent at Augsburg, Christian, Donaldson, Jefferson, Nicollet, Taft and Washington.   A minimum reservation of two hours is required.  To inquire about reserving a shelter, call  612-861-9385.

Richfield Community Gardens (59th and 28th Ave. near the airport)

The Richfield Community Gardens are located at the northwest corner of 59th Street and 28th Avenue South (just south of Crosstown, exit at 28th Avenue). The plots are 15' x 20' and are equipped with 14 water spigots, a compost bin in which to deposit clippings from the gardens and accessible, raised garden beds for rental by people with mobility impairments. Picnic Game Kits and Volleyball Sets

Badminton, volleyball, bocce and croquet sets are available for rental from the Community Center (renter can take them off-site to use anywhere).  For current rates, please call 612-861-9385.

Athletic Fields

Athletic field rental is coordinated by Recreation Manager Frank White.  To inquire about field rental, call 612-861-9360.
Softball fields are available for rent at Christian, Roosevelt (lighted), Taft (lighted), and Washington Parks.
Baseball fields are available for rental at Donaldson Park.
Hockey/Broomball rinks are available for rent at Augsburg, Christian, Donaldson (lighted), Roosevelt (lighted), Taft (lighted), and Washington (lighted) Parks.
Soccer and Football fields are available for rent at Christian, Donaldson (lighted), Roosevelt (lighted), Taft (lighted), and Washington Parks.

Tennis Courts

Tennis courts at Augsburg (lighted), Christian, Donaldson, Roosevelt and Washington Parks are available for rent for $3/hour. Lights are available at Augsburg for an additional $2/hour.  Call 612-861-9385 for more information.

Richfield Community Center 7000 Nicollet Ave.
