This 42-acre park is one of Richfield’s main athletic complexes and includes four adult softball fields, one football/soccer field, two outdoor basketball courts and one hockey/broomball rink.  Taft Park also has a one-mile walking path that includes a path around Mother Lake on the north side of the park.

 Taft Park has three parking lots:
Lot #1 is located at 62^nd Street and Bloomington Avenue So.,
Lot #2 is located at 63^rd Street and 16^th Avenue (but can only be accessed from Bloomington Avenue & 63^rd Street)
Lot #3 is located at 1800 63^rd Street (18^th Avenue no longer exists north of 66^th Street).

New Construction:
18th Avenue no longer exists north of 66th Street.  Richfield Parkway and 66th Street is now a roundabout...Richfield Parkway turns into 17th Ave going north (see directions below).New construction, opening in the Fall 2007 there’s a new shopping area with Home Depot, Super Target and other shops bordered by 66^th Street (south), 17^th Avenue (west), Cedar Avenue (Hwy 77) (east), and 63^rd Street (north).

DIRECTIONS TO TAFT PARK:

From the North:
Take I-35W south to Crosstown/62.  Go east.  Exit at Bloomington Avenue and turn right onto Bloomington Avenue.  Lot #1 can be accessed from Bloomington Ave.  Lot #2 can be accessed by turning east onto 63rd St.  Lot #3 can be accessed by turning east on 64th Street, then turning north on Richfield Parkway/17th Ave and following the road to the right (turns into 63rd St).

From the South:
Take I-35W north to Crosstown/62.  Go east.  Exit at Bloomington Avenue and turn right onto Bloomington Avenue.  Lot #1 can be accessed from Bloomington Ave.  Lot #2 can be accessed by turning east onto 63rd St.  Lot #3 can be accessed by turning east on 64th Street, then turning north on Richfield Parkway/17th Ave and following the road to the right (turns into 63rd St).

Take Cedar Avenue (Hwy 77) north to 66^th Street exit, turn left onto 66^th Street continue to Bloomington Avenue.  Lot #3 can be accessed by going north on Richfield Parkway (at the roundabout), which turns into 17th Ave, then bends right and turns into 63rd St and leads to Lot #3.  Lots #1 and #2 can be accessed by turning north onto Bloomington Avenue.  Lot #2 can be accessed by then turning east onto 63rd St.  Lot #3 can be accessed by continuing north on Bloomington Ave (on the east side of the street).

From the West:
Take I-494 east to Cedar Avenue.  Go north on Cedar Ave to 66th Street.  Go west on 66th St and turn north on Richfield Parkway to access Lot #3.  To access Lots #2 or #3, take 66th St. to Bloomington Avenue and go north.  Turn east on 63rd St. to access Lot #2; continue north on Bloomington Ave to access Lot #1 (on the east side of Bloomington Ave).

From the East:
Take I-494 west to Cedar Avenue.  Go north on Cedar Ave to 66th Street.  Go west on 66th St and turn north on Richfield Parkway to access Lot #3.  To access Lots #2 or #3, take 66th St. to Bloomington Avenue and go north.  Turn east on 63rd St. to access Lot #2; continue north on Bloomington Ave to access Lot #1 (on the east side of Bloomington Ave).
