The
YMCA Tri-City Skate park was built in partnership between the cities of
Richfield, Edina, and Bloomington. The
Southdale YMCA is responsible for programming, operations, and staffing.
The park opened in October 2003. It is a one-of-a-kind, all-concrete,
in-ground, continuous bowl skate park - the first in the Upper Midwest!
With street course elements on the side, the park offers enough variety to
accommodate a range of skill levels with depths ranging from four to twelve
feet. The skate park was designed and constructed by Grindline, a
leading edge skate park developer, utilizing the input of a taskforce of
local YMCA youth members, ages 12-16.
The park is designed for skateboards, bikes, and inline skates.
